king of glam

christophe decarnin may not be at the helm of balmain but that doesn't mean the house isn't serving the same caliber of rock'n'roll goodness. the perfectly cut smoking jackets, heavily embroidered minis and louche, slouchy pants in olivier rousteing's debut collection are a clear indication that balmania isn't going anywhere.

on my mind

just a little summer street style inspiration. i'm really into vests and dip dye lately (especially when it involves a hint of menswear) i think i feel a DIY project coming on.

mint confetti

i'm a sucker for great draping, especially when it comes in the form of a perfect little dress like these beauties from cushnie et ochs resort collection.

dream a little dream

let's discuss for one second the degree of amazing-ness that is lanvin...i am never disappointed by the newest alber elbaz creations. take for example the latest resort collection. jumpsuits? check. flowing maxi dresses? check. turbans à la madame grès? another check. the only words that come to mind? absolutely divine.

blossom and bloom

vibrant floral prints and cropped sweaters made for riccardo tisci's resort collection which was one part kitsch,  one part sporty and overall highly wearable. loving the shapes and the layering plus those ivory looks are to die for!

easy rock

loved these shots from an old elle italia editorial...i'm starting to wonder just how many times these balenciaga boots have been shot, they seem to be everywhere i look these days.

the cool factor

olivier theyskens has consistently been churning out stellar collections for theyskens' theory. the resort collection was no different. slouchy, effortless pieces are what olivier was serving. i'll take one of everything please, especially that little leather jacket.

prince of darkness

suffice it to say i have a near sick obsession with givenchy so when i spotted an interview with riccardo tisci in the june issue of...interview my heart was a flutter. not only was the interviewer none other than ms. donatella versace but the accompanying photos, which some may consider scandalous, were shot by steven klein (a personal favorite) if that's not a heavy-hitting threesome i don't know what is.

in said interview tisci discusses being surrounded by strong women, his italian roots and the rumors about dior but really you should just read the whole thing here... interview

asymmetrical appeal at helmut lang

as an explanation to the cool, urban aesthetic of their latest collection Helmut Lang designer duo Nicole and Michael Colovos claimed "Our girls don't do resort". not that I ever expect bathing suits or flirty frocks from the label...which is just fine by me. their clean, minimal, downtown attitude is what always keeps me coming back. here are my top 4 favorites from their latest feat...

photo booth

here's a sneak peak at the new chanel fall campaign styled by carine roitfeld. while this marks freja's fifth time as the chanel girl of choice the images are less polished and more playful than usual. of course i'm a sucker for masks and generally believe anything  carine touches turns to gold.

color me bad

loving this editorial shot by camilla akrans for the may issue of numero. the saturated red backdrop is a perfect contrast to the studded, structural outfits edita rocks so well. one part david bowie, one part dominatrix...of course i'm in.
