classic subtlety

christopher bailey's work for burberry prorsum never fails to impress. the pre-fall collection was 180 degree turn from the biker chic attire he showcased for spring. studs and skinny's were replaced with sumptuous outerwear  trimmed in fur, impeccably tailored flared trousers and the perfect tuxedo (not just for the boys). here are my favorites...in head to toe black of course.

rock n roll suicide

digging the styling in this jalouse editorial...nothing screams glam rock like the combination of fur and bare skin. plus those leopard zannoti wedges have kind of been haunting my dreams.

simply sensuos

"People call me a Gothic designer, I don't think that's true. I like black, I like white. I never like what’s in the middle."- Riccardo Tisci

the masked bandits

obsessing over this editorial from the october issue of paris vogue styled by the one and only carine roitfeld in celebration of the glossies' 90th anniversary. there is something insanely romantic about masks...mix that with a touch of fetish (plus a hint of Givenchy) and you have an infallible concept.

night cat

If I were to rank things that I adore leopard print and Givenchy would be somewhere at the top of the list. Let's be honest, nobody does Gothic glamour quite like Riccardo Tisci and in true form his latest collection was dark. Exposed zippers and bondage straps were juxtaposed with draped layers of sheer chiffon and everything from sharply tailored jackets to flowing floor length skirts was infused with leopard print. All I have to say is I need this right meow.

london calling

leather, over embelishment and carefully crafted holed t-shirts have all become synonymous with christophe decarnin's designs for balmain. the spring 2011 collection was no different- an army of 21st century punk clad in safety pin covered corsets, zippered leather cigarette pants and ripped fishnets graced the runway. i'd be lying if i said i wasn't a proponent of balmainia but i'm tempted to ask...why pay top dollar for something that's so DIY?

christopher bailey does it again...another killer burberry prorsum collection and one of my favorites of spring 2011 so far.

softly speaking

if it wasn't already apparent i have a fondness for helmut lang...what i love most is their constant and undeniable ability to create effortless attire. case in point- the spring 2011 collection which evoked a soft, airy mood with looser silhouettes and a lighter color palette. perfectly slouched jackets paired with draped maxi skirts, sheer textured sweaters in shades of taupe and nude and that white on white short suit (that i want to live in) all with a sense of understated sexiness.
