parfois chic...parfois choc

In the words of Rachel Zoe...I DIE! The Chloe Pre-Fall collection is amazing. Carrot-legged pants, plaid lined capes and simple shift dressed that scream Parisian chic. It's a rare moment when I can actually say that I want every piece of a collection but I must say this is one of them. Thank you Hannah MacGibbon...and where have you been all my life?

L.A. Lady

It was only a matter of time until the san francisco weather would return back to it's natural self and sometimes there is just nothing better than a rainy day. I curled up at Book's Inc. with a cup of coffee and read stacks of international fashion magazines as I watched the rain fall outside, scored a black chiffon ballerina dress by Marc for 65 dollars and perused countless antique furniture stores in search for the perfect dresser. But most importantly I finally took the time to upload these scans from Lula which feature beautiful creations by LA-based label Wren.

until the morning

"Style is usually intangible often inimitable. Picture the most stylish girl you know. You don’t admire her for her blatantly designer items or for her head-to-toe perfection, but rather for something you can’t quite place your finger on. She might have dirty hair but carry a Chanel purse, or rock a couture dress with beat-up Nikes. Every piece she wears is a part of her sensibility, and no item calls so much attention to itself as to take away from the whole picture. That symphony of contrasts is a marker of true style."

I'm pretty sure that Kova & T can be credited with debuting the oxy legging that's been seen on everyone from Julia Restoin Roitfeld to flannel clad hipsters. I absolutely love the styling for the capsule collection look book...it's simple and effortless, just like their style philosophy. Not to mention the corset romper would be perfect for frolicking around Coachella.

a brief encounter

The spring runways were filled with long legged models clad in little more than skin baring briefs, a look which brought to mind a certain sex and the city episode i might add, and one that made me wonder...will this look actually make it from the runways to the streets. At first I was completely put off by this new "forgotten pants" phenomenon...back in the factory girl days sienna miller stepped out in briefs over black opaque tights, a fashion moment which was not her greatest. But I'm starting to think that a well chosen style of briefs worn to the correct occasion might actually be a look I might support. In fact...there's a certain black silky pair at Urban Outfitters that I've got my eye on.
